Recommended books and resources for beginners in Learning as a Hobby

Resources on these pages will help you get motivated, overcome obstacles and help you teach yourself anything you like. They will help you improve your reading and vocabulary and give you some help with techniques to get started.

ooks on these pages are ones that I have found useful. I've provided links to Amazon so that you can take a look yourself and see if you think they would be useful. Almost all the books available on Amazon are four or five star books.
  
Many of the books will be available in your public library. If you're serious want to teach yourself new things, I encourage you to get acquainted with your library if you're not already. Some of the books may no longer be in print. When that's the case, I'll try to provide a source, and you can also check the Amazon used book links.
